The cost of listing sponsorship opportunities

If you are a club secretary, festival organiser, venue manager, musician or podcaster, the cost of listing sponsorship opportunities on Spontzer comes down to a single membership fee. Membership is £99 a month or £599 a year, and you can choose whichever suits the way your organisation manages its money. Neither plan limits how many listings you create, so a club with a shirt deal, a pitchside board and a junior section to fund pays the same as someone with a single opportunity. There is no success fee or commission for rights holders, so whatever you agree with a brand is what you receive.

We have kept the structure deliberately plain because most grassroots and local organisations do not have a commercial team or a budget for complicated tools. You should be able to compare the numbers with what a single sponsor is likely to be worth to you and decide quickly whether it makes sense. The cards above show the headline figures, and the sections below explain what sits behind them, while how Spontzer works covers the journey from listing to signed agreement.

What both rights holder plans include

The monthly and annual plans give you exactly the same features. The only difference between them is how you pay, so you never have to worry that choosing the cheaper option leaves something out. Every membership includes the following.

  • Unlimited listings, so you can present each opportunity separately rather than squeezing everything into one generic offer.
  • A detailed digital prospectus for each listing, giving brands the audience, assets and packages they need to make a decision.
  • Multiple photos and video, so sponsors can see your matchday crowd, your stage or your studio rather than imagining it.
  • Active promotion of your listings to the Spontzer brand network.
  • A listing review before anything goes live, which helps your opportunity read clearly and gives brands confidence in what they are browsing.

Because listings are unlimited, it is worth thinking in terms of separate packages. A brand that cannot stretch to a headline partnership may be very happy to sponsor a single event, a kit item or a podcast series, and giving each one its own listing makes it far easier for them to say yes. For help putting packages together, our guide to event sponsorship packages is a useful place to start.

How the 10% brand success fee works

Spontzer does not take a success fee or commission from rights holders. Instead, when a deal is agreed through the platform, the brand pays a 10% success fee on top of the agreed value of the rights. If a brand and your club agree £5,000 for the rights, the brand pays £5,500 in total, your club receives the full £5,000 and Spontzer's fee is £500. If no deal is agreed, no fee is charged at all.

We think this is the fairest way to price a sponsorship marketplace, because your membership stays the only cost on your side and every pound you agree with a sponsor reaches you. You can set your prices on what your packages are worth, without building in a margin for us, while brands factor the fee into their budget when they plan a deal. If you would like help thinking through how to structure a package or a deal, we can offer guidance.

Choosing between monthly and annual

The monthly plan at £99 suits organisations that want flexibility or are trying Spontzer for the first time. It is also a sensible choice if your sponsorship needs fall in one part of the year, such as a festival with a single season, because you can judge the value month by month.

The annual plan at £599 is the better value if you expect to look for sponsors over a longer period. Twelve monthly payments would come to £1,188, so paying annually saves you £589, which is close to half the cost. For clubs, venues and media owners who sell sponsorship every year, or who want their listings visible to brands all year round, the annual plan is usually the obvious choice.

A useful way to decide is to ask how long a typical sponsorship conversation takes for you. Brands often plan their budgets well ahead, and relationships with local businesses can take a few months to develop, so annual membership gives you time to build them without counting the months.

Free membership for brands

Brands do not pay to join Spontzer. A marketing manager or business owner can create a profile, browse and filter listings, receive automatic notifications of new opportunities and contact rights holders directly, all without a subscription. They can also manage the whole deal flow on the platform, with secure messaging and secure payment options.

When a deal is agreed, the brand pays a 10% success fee on top of the agreed price, which brands should factor into their budget, and no fee is charged if no deal is agreed. Free membership matters for rights holders too, because it removes a barrier that might otherwise stop a local business from looking at sponsorship at all. The easier it is for brands to browse, the more of them are likely to find your listing, and you can read more about how they use the platform on our page for brands.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a limit on how many listings I can create?

No. Both the £99 monthly plan and the £599 annual plan include unlimited listings. Each listing comes with its own digital prospectus, photos and video, so you can present every opportunity properly.

Do rights holders pay a success fee?

No. Rights holders pay only the membership, at £99 a month or £599 a year, and receive the full agreed value of every deal. The 10% success fee is paid by the brand on top of the agreed price, so on a £5,000 deal the brand pays £5,500 and you receive the full £5,000.

Do the monthly and annual plans include different features?

No, both plans include exactly the same features, from unlimited listings and promotion to the brand network to the listing review. The difference is only in how you pay. The annual plan costs £599, compared with £1,188 for twelve monthly payments.

Is this the right kind of sponsorship for my organisation?

Spontzer is for commercial sponsorship, meaning partnerships where a brand pays or provides value in return for exposure and association with your club, event, venue, music or media. If you are looking for businesses to back what you do in exchange for visibility, it is built for you.
